The mission of the Office of the Inspector General at the Florida Department of Corrections is to protect and to promote public integrity and accountability within the Department through investigations, audits, and inspections.

We aim to detect and prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct, ensuring that the Department operates efficiently and effectively while upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct. JOB DUTIES:

* This is a career service, sworn Inspector position responsible for conducting/leading complex investigations involving waste, fraud and abuse, public corruption, serious employee misconduct, and whistle blower investigations.
* The incumbent will ensure accuracy and timeliness of OIG investigations/inquiries and ensure they are carried out consistent with and pursuant to IG Directives & FDC Policies and Procedures. These include following investigative procedures or directives, interviewing complainants, witnesses, and subjects related to alleged violations of state law or departmental procedures; and writing and reviewing final reports containing investigative reports.
* The incumbent in this position could have the following duties to include but are not limited to, planning, leading, investigating and conducting, administrative (internal affairs or OIG), financial and public corruption investigations.
* Additional duties include comprehensive whistle blower reviews and related investigations pursuant to FSS 112.3187, known as the Florida Whistle-blower's Act and coordination of IG investigations with the Office of the Chief Inspector General, Executive Office of the Governor BENEFITS:

    * Must possess one (1) years of investigative experience.

    * Comprehensive knowledge of s.112., F.S. (Law Enforcement Officers' and Correctional Officers' Rights)
