As a Layout Inspector, you will perform detailed layout inspections of a wide variety of parts utilizing advanced computer-aided inspection techniques. You will interpret complex blueprints, evaluate dimensions and tolerances, and apply efficient and cost-effective inspection methods using Zeiss Inspect (formerly GOM Inspect) and optical scanning technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections on precision and turbine components using Zeiss Inspect / GOM Inspect and optical scanning systems such as ATOS.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements to verify part conformance.
- Develop and execute inspection workflows for dimensional inspection of precision parts.
- Establish efficient, cost-effective inspection methods and techniques for assigned projects.
- Prepare inspection documentation and deviation reports in accordance with ISO
17025 procedures. - Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection process optimization and data accuracy.
- Mandatory experience with Zeiss Inspect / GOM Inspect for dimensional inspection and reporting.
- Experience with optical or structured light scanning systems such as ATOS or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Python or Visual Basic scripting experience is beneficial but not required.
- Working knowledge of ISO
9001, ISO
17025, AS9100, and NADCAP standards. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
- U.S. person status required (per ITAR regulations).
