Business Development Leader For Ports And Coastal Science Market

The successful applicant will lead business development for the Ports and Coastal Science market, including both domestic and international opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of strategic client relationships, serving as a client point of contact, fostering client relationships and leading both technical and commercial proposal development. An understanding of field sampling in the marine environment is required.

The successful applicant must have strong organizational, teamwork and communication/client management and proposal development skills. This position requires periodic domestic and international travel, often at short notice and on weekends, during all times of the year.

Leading Ports and Coastal Science market business development activities to grow our client base and identify new opportunities

Leading client management and development for the Ports and Coastal Science market

Leading Ports and Coastal Science commercial and technical proposal composition and submission

Identifying and pursuing both domestic and international opportunities and EPIC projects

Creating technical presentations and attending trade shows to develop the Ports and Coastal market both domestically and internationally

Supporting the quality, validity, and accuracy of project science

Engage in professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness

Demonstrated engagement in coastal sustainability and/or resilience studies

Assisting in preparation of technical reports

Adhering to company standards and procedures for data collection, quality control, and health, safety, security, and the environment (HSSE)

Other relevant duties supporting other market groups as needed

Demonstrated business development and client management skills

Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory programs for coastal infrastructure, development, resiliency, and sustainability

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in life sciences, especially marine science, biology and ecology or a related field

Demonstrated ability to work independently but also as part of a close-knit team

Ability to manage multiple tasks and programs efficiently and accurately

Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills

Strong working knowledge of computers and standard Microsoft software packages including word processing skills

Possession of a valid US Driver's license

Self-starter, with effective time management skills

Great communication skills

Experience managing large scale field projects

Analytical and problem-solving mindset

Flexibility

Understanding of data integration using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Experience supporting the development of (successful) scientific funding proposals and

Foreign language skills
