Field Biologist

Assist biologists with in-water restoration projects, generating reports, and day to day operations.

Candidates should be comfortable working on/ in the water and spending long days outside in all Florida weather conditions.

Candidates should be comfortable swimming in all types of water (previous experience is preferred).

Candidates with technical writing skills and the ability to generate basic scientific monitoring reports, and data analysis skills preferred.

Candidates should possess adequate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point skills.

Candidates should be able, or willing to learn, to operate boats and other small watercrafts.

Candidates may be asked to travel up to four nights/week (travel expenses are reimbursed).

A typical day working as a field biologist for Sea & Shoreline may range anywhere from sitting at a computer copying field data into Excel, to hours under or on the water, operating a 30-ft barge on a seagrass restoration project. Although Sea & Shoreline specializes in seagrass, they possess the equipment, skills, and expertise to take on any aquatic restoration/ mitigation project.

Sea & Shoreline is currently working all throughout the state of Florida, from the panhandle to the Keys. Their methods are deeply rooted in scientific principles. Compensation: $42,000 – $52,000 annually
