Job Title
Responsibilities:
Test, inspect, investigate, and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures on customer vessels
Perform routine maintenance on inboard, stern drive, and outboard motors
Recognize safety issues and present findings to the service department for customer awareness and increased sales
Repair and replace OEM and aftermarket components when applicable
Install electronics and accessories
Perform river tests for quality assurance
Examine boat and discuss the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor or customer
Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions and drives
Perform Mechanical Repair Work, such as
Remove engine, transom, or outdrive
Disassemble the unit and inspect parts for wear
Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems
Rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks
Rewire ignition system, lights, and instrument panel
Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of marine motor mechanics and boat systems
Two years minimum experience as a Marine Mechanic
Able to perform installations and repairs per instructions and to specs
Knowledge and practice of shop safety procedures
Salary: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
