Reports To:
Building Principal/Assistant Principals.
- Provide daily substitute coverage as assigned.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
- Review all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom assigned.
- Teach lessons outlined in the classroom teacher’s lesson plans.
- Write a report about work completed at the end of each teaching day for absent teacher.
- Attend team meetings and IEP meetings as requested.
- Attend parent conferences as requested.
- Meet with teachers for curriculum discussions as requested.
- Meet with teachers and other specialists to discuss school issues as requested.
- Participate in in-service training programs and/or workshops as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and administration.
- Effectively apply school procedures and Student Handbook regulations.
- Work with children of varying abilities, including children with disabilities.
- Maintain a cooperative, productive and flexible working relationship when dealing with students and staff.
- Resolve practical problems with students and staff.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
- Provide information and assistance to parents, the general public and other staff members in a helpful, courteous and timely manner.
- Child development and challenges faced by students with and without disabilities.
- Curriculum expectations of grade level/discipline to which you are assigned.
- Available assistive technologies, with appropriate training.
- Effective use of computer and relevant educational software applications.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Safe operation of school equipment necessary to successfully complete daily tasks, including copier, laminator and paper cutter.
- Telephone/computer techniques and etiquette.
- Evidence of ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Appropriate Massachusetts Department of Education certification preferred.
- Approved CORI and Fingerprinting results.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Anticipated salary: $145.00 – $155.00 per day.
Terms of EmploymentDays school is in session: 7:20 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
