Job DescriptionLibrary Assistant at Tantasqua Regional Senior High School for the School Year.

Reports to:
Principal, Media Specialist
Essential Functions:
- Assists students and faculty to locate and utilize materials for projects and classroom use.
- Helps schedule class visits to the library media center.
- Assists in maintaining an atmosphere and discipline conducive to student learning.
- Assists with technology, including audiovisual equipment and computers.
- Supervises and trains student aides.
- Maintains the periodical collection, including record keeping.
- Processes new materials and supplies.
- Helps to place orders.
- Mends damaged materials.
- Operates the circulation system, including check out, discharge, and re-shelving of materials.
- Updates the list of audiovisual materials.
- Conducts inventory of the collection, hardware, and supplies.
- Helps coordinate equipment maintenance and scheduling of equipment.
- Helps maintain an attractive, inviting environment in the library media center.
- Sends out overdue notices.
- Reads shelves to keep materials in numerical order.
- Oversees the library in the absence of the library teacher.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent.
- Ability to work well with teachers and students.
- Approved CORI and Fingerprinting results.
