Job DescriptionOld Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Reading Teacher to provide small-group instruction for students in Grades 1–3. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early literacy development and experience with Wilson’s Fundations® program. This role focuses on supporting foundational reading skills through targeted instruction and ongoing assessment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, research-based reading instruction to small groups of students in Grades 1–3.
- Implement Wilson’s Fundations® program with fidelity to support phonics, phonemic awareness, and spelling skills.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the school Literacy Specialist and classroom teachers to align interventions with classroom instruction and school-wide literacy goals.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to teachers and families as appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification (Reading Specialist certification a plus).
- Experience teaching early literacy and familiarity with Wilson’s Fundations® program strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of phonics-based instruction and differentiated teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Part-time position; mornings, five days per week
SalaryCompetitive and commensurate with experience; $25-45 per hour.
