Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Reading Teacher to provide small-group instruction for students in Grades 1–3. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early literacy development and experience with Wilson’s Fundations® program. This role focuses on supporting foundational reading skills through targeted instruction and ongoing assessment.

• Deliver engaging, research-based reading instruction to small groups of students in Grades 1–3.
• Implement Wilson’s Fundations® program with fidelity to support phonics, phonemic awareness, and spelling skills.
• Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the school Literacy Specialist and classroom teachers to align interventions with classroom instruction and school-wide literacy goals.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to teachers and families as appropriate.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid teaching certification (Reading Specialist certification a plus).
• Experience teaching early literacy and familiarity with Wilson’s Fundations® program strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of phonics-based instruction and differentiated teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Part-time position; mornings, five days per week

Competitive and commensurate with experience; $25-45 per hour.

Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School opened in 2017 and serves 360 students in grades kindergarten through eighth. We work together to support the safe and happy arrival and dismissal of our students, collaborate and plan together and use data to guide decision-making.

School wide professional meetings happen before the start of the school year and throughout. All staff are encouraged and expected to participate in school-funded professional development opportunities during the school year and over the summer as approved by the Head of School.
