Responsibilities:
The Teacher plans, coordinates, and implements specially designed instruction. Additionally, the teacher provides classroom differentiation and works in cooperation with the classroom assistants, and therapists.
- Provide accommodations/ modifications according to individualized educational plans to ensure students are given access to general education curriculum and instruction.
- Monitor effectiveness of instructional techniques and adjust instruction to maximize student understanding of content and address student learning goals identified on the IEP.
- Collaborate with related service providers and coordinate services for assigned students.
- Follow coordinated systems with Paraprofessionals to ensure specially designed instruction, modifications and accommodations are implemented.
- Develop and implement student schedules in order to ensure that student goals are being addressed meaningfully.
- Employ special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory and perceptual motor skills, language, cognition and memory.
- Perform Liaison responsibilities which include, but limited to: collaborate the preparation of- progress reports, IEP’s, and assessments,
- Provide Direct Instruction in areas identified on student specific educational plans including: academic skills, social skills, related adaptive
- Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on students and activities as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Follow developed plans for effective communication, monitoring, and follow-up of students in inclusive classroom settings.
- Assist in the collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions and the development of goals.
- Master Degree or higher, valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License, Moderate Special Needs preferred
- At least one year of successful experience preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Approved CORI and fingerprint-based state and national criminal background results
Salary Range: $57,005.00 - $60,304.00
