Hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Sturbridge! Job Description
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and adapting production equipment to support manufacturing operations. This role involves working closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to improve process efficiency, increase production capacity, and reduce costs, while maintaining strict adherence to product specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Design and develop production equipment to optimize manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to enhance process efficiency.
- Increase production capacity while reducing operational costs.
- Ensure adherence to product specifications and maintain quality standards.
- Proficiency in GD&T.
- Experience with Large Assembly Design for machine components.
- Solid Works (3D) expertise.
- AutoCAD (2D) skills.
- Ability to perform design calculations such as load calculations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Exposure to 3D printing is desirable.
- Experience with fabrication techniques is preferred.
- BS or AS degree preferred but not required with 7-10+ years of experience.
- An ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience with Solid Works, machine component design for large assemblies, GD&T, and load calculations.
The role is within a small team with a strong positive culture, ideal for someone who enjoys a team environment and supporting all levels of the manufacturing team. This is a fully onsite position, with working hours from 8 am to 5 pm.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturbridge, MA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $57.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
