Convenience Store Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous customer service experience required
• Retail management experience highly preferred
• Strong leadership and team motivation skills
• Experience working with sales targets, KPIs, and financial reports
• Ability to work flexible, open schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting 25–50 pounds
• Proficient with basic Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Convenience Store Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations with direct leadership for a team of three employees
• Recruit, train, schedule, and manage staff
• Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and daily sales reporting
• Maintain high standards in store cleanliness, merchandising, and customer service
• Monitor inventory, conduct spot checks, and ensure accurate recordkeeping
• Address customer needs and resolve concerns, building strong customer relationships
• Achieve sales and profitability targets as set with district leadership
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and company regulations
