Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Sturbridge, MA. Position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career with defined routes and schedules.
Compensation details:
- $1550 weekly guaranteed
- Hourly pay: $28.50 per hour
- Mileage reimbursement: $0.72 per mile
- Hours per week: 50–55 (Monday–Friday, dispatch start time AM or PM)
- Paid training
Route and equipment:
- Deliver SOLO to MA, RI, PA, CT, and ME
- Local Home Daily routes
- Tractor type:
Day Cab - Trailer type:
Flatbed 40', 53' - Freight: load securement only – metals
- Ryder will train on all necessary equipment
- Cover multiple accounts
- Truck age: 36 months or newer; 24/7 roadside maintenance; fueling at >800 facilities nationwide
- Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid for it)
- Uniforms, cell phone & boot allowance provided
- Drivers are the captain—make safety decisions

- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass Ryder drug test
- Pass Ryder background & motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical
- Pass Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within past 3 years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within last 5 years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/UnLoad freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
