Industrial Electrician – Controls & Automation
This role focuses on developing, building, and maintaining manufacturing automation equipment to support both new system builds and ongoing production operations. You will work hands-on with panel design, PLC programming, and troubleshooting, as well as electrical and mechanical fabrication to assemble, wire, and integrate automated machinery. You will collaborate closely with engineering and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, support process upgrades, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all automated systems.
Responsibilities- Develop, build, and maintain manufacturing automation equipment to support new system installations and existing production lines.
- Design, assemble, and wire electrical control panels for automated machinery in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs to ensure reliable and efficient operation of automated systems.
- Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical fabrication work to assemble, integrate, and commission automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components including motors, sensors, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial control circuits.
- Support ongoing maintenance activities to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability across the facility.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement process upgrades and continuous improvements in automation systems.
- Use CAD tools to assist with drafting, panel layouts, and documentation of control systems and electrical schematics.
- Participate in robotics and automation-related projects, contributing to system integration and optimization.
- Ensure all work complies with safety procedures and industry standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- 2–5 years of experience in automation, including hands-on work with automated manufacturing equipment.
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering or closely related electrical roles.
- 1+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, including configuration, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with panel design, assembly, wiring, and integration of industrial control panels.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical components such as motors, sensors, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial control circuits.
- Strong automation experience with practical experience in supporting production equipment.
- Foundational drafting skills for documenting electrical and control systems.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment failures efficiently.
Skills & Qualifications
- CAD experience for drafting, panel layouts, and control system documentation.
- Exposure to robotics and robotic integration within automated manufacturing systems.
- Experience with automation-related software tools and control system platforms.
- Fabrication skills, including electrical and mechanical assembly of automation equipment.

- Ability to adapt to new technologies and automation solutions as the facility continues to modernize.
