, you will independently perform clinical laboratory procedures in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology
. You’ll ensure analytic integrity through rigorous quality control
, instrument maintenance
, and troubleshooting
, and you’ll communicate professionally with providers and colleagues to support efficient diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform and verify patient testing across core laboratory disciplines; ensure accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and appropriate reference ranges.
- Conduct quality control, calibrations, and instrument maintenance; document activities per lab policy and accreditation standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic issues; elevate as needed.
- Accurately interpret, document, and report results in the LIS/EMR within established turnaround times.
- Maintain competency, adhere to CLIA/CAP/Joint Commission standards, and follow safety and infection prevention protocols.
- Serve as a resource for providers and team members; support training and precepting of new staff.
- Participate in continuous improvement, including standard work, process audits, and workflow optimization.
- Required: Associate’s degree as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent per CLIA requirements.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or related field.
- Preferred:
ASCP certification (MLS or MLT). - Required: Eligibility for certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency. If not currently certified, must obtain certification within 12 months of hire (ASCP or another nationally recognized certifying body).
- Prior clinical laboratory experience in core disciplines preferred (new graduates welcome).
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems and analyzers; strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Working 30-36 hours a week, primarily on the Night shift rotation, including weekends and holidays.
Shift differentials offered as a percentage of base rate: 10% for PM shift and 17% for night shift.
