Responsibilities

  • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors daily assignments for full-time and limited-term Parks Division staff; collaborates with administrative staff to support scheduled park activities.
  • Supports the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of regular and seasonal parks staff.
  • Leads preventive maintenance efforts and documents repairs in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and services mechanical systems including electric motors, plumbing components, and pneumatic fixtures.
  • Coordinates maintenance and repair activities for park grounds, buildings, equipment, and related infrastructure.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of powered equipment including tractors, skid steers, mowers, snow blowers, and boom lifts.
  • Procur es repair parts and maintenance supplies cost-effectively through independent sourcing and vendor coordination, and documents supply orders.
  • Maintains accurate service and inspection records; ensures compliance with safety procedures and protocols across all operations.
  • Enforces County & Department rules and safety standards, including compliance with Chapter 12 of the Door County Code.
  • Responds to maintenance requests and emergencies via issued cell phone, including after-hours or weekend coverage as assigned.
  • Shall provide facility support and perform other duties in support of the division's mission and public service standards.
  • Qualifications

    Required Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. At least one (1) year of progressive experience in park or facility maintenance, with emphasis on mechanical, plumbing, or landscaping. Demonstrated ability to work with tools, mechanical systems, and computer-based maintenance platforms. Valid driver's license.

    Preferred Education & Experience At least two (2) years of supervisory experience leading teams in a dynamic field or facility operations setting. Wisconsin CDL Class A and B endorsement or equivalent. Familiarity with public sector operations and customer service. Experience sourcing materials and managing small-scale maintenance budgets.
