Position Summary

The Electric Shop Supervisor oversees daily electric shop and assembly operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role leads production team members, coordinates workflow, and collaborates with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to support efficient, on‑time production.

General Responsibilities Production & Technical Oversight
  • Oversee daily panel shop operations, ensuring control panel builds meet engineering, automation, and UL 508A standards.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, layout drawings, PLC I/O diagrams, and wiring schedules to support assembly and troubleshooting of automated control systems and OEM equipment.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including I/O verification, functional testing, and resolution of wiring, component, and system integration issues in collaboration with automation engineers.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise, train, and mentor panel builders and electrical technicians.
  • Assign work based on skill level, production schedule, and project complexity.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, craftsmanship, and accountability.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, PPE, and safe electrical work practices.
  • Ensure all panels meet NEC, UL, and customer‑specific standards.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and internal quality systems.
Workflow, Coordination & Process Optimization
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to resolve design issues and maintain production flow.
  • Manage inventory, material shortages, and component substitutions to support on‑time production.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles, standardized work instructions, and schedule tracking to ensure timely delivery of automation panel builds.
Requirements
  • High School diploma with 5+ years of fabrication and assembly experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing trades, blueprint reading, and safety regulations.
  • Computer proficiency;
    AutoCAD and/or SOLIDWORKS experience preferred.
  • Detail‑oriented, results‑driven, and committed to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to promote a positive team environment.
