Position Summary
Pipe fitters are responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting pipe systems, equipment, and related components on ship interiors/exteriors and shipyard facilities across a 63-acre site.
Essential Functions
- Read blueprints and plan pipe system layout, installation, and repairs.
- Cut, bend, thread, assemble, weld, braze, and secure pipes, fittings, valves, and controls.
- Inspect and test systems using gauges, hydrostatic testing, and observation.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, replace worn components, and perform general maintenance.
- Operate pumps and tools; properly store equipment.
- Work under intermittent supervision; perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
- Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and organizational policies; regular attendance required.
