Position:
Machine Technician 1 Salary Grade: 3
Primary
Purpose:
Build components and assemblies for a variety of machines with a quality mindset and in an efficient manner to ensure that the machines are ready for additional processing and finishing.

Responsibilities:
Quantifiable metrics to which a person is held accountable
- Arrive at work and position consistently on time; remain present and engaged the entire assigned shift.
- Able to recognize and document patterns in process and problem solving.
- Participate in regular employee reviews including setting and achieving goals.
- Assemble relatively simple machines and their individual parts that are somewhat repetitive in nature. Utilize appropriate tools to accomplish tasks.
- Remove burrs and rough surfaces from metal parts with hand tools and grinders as required.
- Operate drill presses, mills, lathes, and grinders to assist in assembly operation as required.
- Transport various assemblies as needed using forklifts and cranes.
- Read blueprints and utilize measurement instruments to assemble parts and machines according to specifications.
- Verify alignment and clearance of parts using micrometers and gauges.
Essential qualifications and skills
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Appropriate written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and determined to attain goals.
- Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
- Ability to receive forklift license and learn to operate cranes and man-lifts.
- Must have math skills and ability to utilize various measurement tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
- High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
