As a Senior Engineer for Product Compliance & Sustainability (m/f/d), you support various product stakeholders in all matters related to compliance and sustainability requirements arising from legal regulations and customer requirements. You analyze and identify risks and impacts related to product compliance and sustainability.
It also involves the following tasks:
Supporting the analysis of existing products with respect to environmental regulations like RoHS, REACH, POP, SCIP and CE with a specific focus on RISL and evaluating their compliance across the entire product lifecycle in line with relevant directives
Supporting design teams for the lifecycle assessment (LCA) of new and existing products to deliver sustainable solutions
Advising design teams on the selection of environmentally compliant materials and components
Using appropriate tools required to ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability regulations
Taking responsibility for processing change requests related to environmental and sustainability standards, ensuring that all relevant norms and regulations are considered
Preparing and maintaining documentation related to environmental compliance and product conformity
Coordinating local team of Engineer for Product Compliance and Sustainability You have:
Successfully completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical or Material Engineering, preferably with a focus on sustainable material or energy systems, or comparable fields
Knowledge of relevant standards and directives (e.g. Regulation 1906/2006/CE REACH, Directive 2011/65/EU – RoHS) and experience in materials management and product compliance in the environmental protection context
Ideally, experience in product sustainability having experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and working in an agile development environment
Understanding of EN 45545 compliance for material selection and design is highly desirable but not mandatory
Independent, structured, and self-reliant working style, combined with strong team spirit and open, transparent communication
Willing to work in a global environment and collaborate effectively with international stakeholders
Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
