Location: Greater Sudbury

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma/Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited College or University
  • Has relevant skills and experiences directly relevant to the job specification
  • Knowledge of Youth Justice programs and services
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation, including the Child and Youth Family Services Act and Youth Criminal Justice Act.
  • Must provide a clear Police Broad Records Check (Criminal Reference Check)
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence (Class G) with a safe driving record
  • Strong oral/written communication skills
  • Computer competency (Microsoft Office)
  • French language is an asset
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Reports directly and is accountable to the Executive Director for service delivery
  • Acts as a leader in the operations of the open detention/custody program
  • Promotes and manages Strategic Plan goals – Building Strengths, Building Futures
  • Maintain Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) licensing standards and regulations, in accordance with the Ombudsman’s Quality Standards, Framework Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA), the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and the Provincial Offences Act (POA).
  • Ensures consistent provision and proper care and supervision of young persons in care.
  • Advocate for young persons in care and ensure their rights and responsibilities are protected and understood.
  • Participate in Case Management and Reintegration planning meetings
  • Innovate, optimize partnerships and foster Community collaborations
  • Establish and maintain collective bargaining relations
  • Carry out on-call requirements as scheduled
  • Coordinate and carry out facility inspections as required
  • Maintain administrative and documentation requirements
  • Maintain financial accountability
SCHEDULE

Permanent Full-Time, 40 hours per week (Day, Afternoon, Evening, Weekends) Rotating on-call schedule

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE

$ 75,000 – $85,000
