The Assistant Branch Administrator contributes to the overall success of Scotia Mc Leod  in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Assists in managing branch support staff by resolving escalated issues, providing recognition, and serving as a resource for guidance and direction
  • Assists the Branch Management Team by completing administrative duties, including filing, storage and report distribution, processing expenses and following up on outstanding issues, building spreadsheets and maintaining databases as necessary, running or assisting management with New Issues, compiling documentation regarding compliance issues, coordinating and tracking daily and monthly supervision requests as directed by Branch Manager, maintaining compliance spreadsheets, completing and submitting the Monthly Error Report, and maintaining the Branch Research Distribution System.
  • Assists the Branch Management Team with the execution and implementation of procedures to ensure compliance with corporate policies and industry regulations, administering the branch client account (house accounts), coordinating building facilities maintenance, scheduling branch meetings, including external speakers, assisting with interviews of support staff, ensuring the quality and efficiency of branch operations, onboarding of new experienced Advisors and their teams, by acting as a resource and liaison, and working to resolve any issues on systems that have been escalated by Branch Systems Administrator (BSA)
  • Contributes to the effective functioning of the branch team by building effective working relationships across the team and with various business line and corporate function contacts, maintaining a high level of customer service, facilitating a culture of open and honest communication, actively participating and contributing to touch bases and team meetings, encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches, actively sharing knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members, and developing and executing a meaningful employee development plan.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
