Drive geological excellence at Magna Mining's Levack Mine in Greater Sudbury, Canada. This Chief Mine Geologist position ensures safe and effective underground operation through strategic geological services.
You will oversee essential geological tasks including orebody interpretation, geological mapping, and ore recovery processes. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure timely resources and lead a dynamic group of geologists to optimize mining efficiency. Your leadership will influence the operational success of the mine.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct grade control and orebody interpretation activities
• Ensure timely ore control models for optimal planning
• Collaborate with exploration teams on drilling programs
• Manage geological performance reporting and KPIs
• Supervise a team and provide technical mentorship
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline
• Professional Geoscientist certification desired
• At least 8 years in underground mine geology
• 3 years in leadership roles
• Proficiency with geological modeling tools required
