Position: Welder Fitter – Permanent Role at Vale
Location: Greater Sudbury

Launch your career as a Welder Fitter with Vale Base Metals in Sudbury, Ontario. This permanent position demands expertise in welding, metal fabrication, and compliance with safety regulations in a 24-hour operation.

We invite fully licensed Journey persons with Trade Certification (437A Red Seal) and CWB Certification to apply. The role includes interpreting and working from structural and pressure vessel drawings while ensuring safe practices at our outdoor workplace. You will be an essential part of our Maintenance Department, involved in all aspects of metal modification and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret structural and pressure vessel drawings

• Dismantle, assemble, and modify metal structures

• Execute pressure welding and brazing tasks

• Manage repairs of plate and structural steel as needed

• Maintain high safety standards during all tasks

Requirements:

• Fully Licensed Journeyperson (437A Red Seal, CWB Certified)

• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience

• Proficient in oxy-fuel and plasma cutting

• Knowledge of welding codes and safety hazards

• Ability to interpret custom fabrication shop drawings
