Summary
DMC is currently looking for Percussive Drillers to join our team on a contract basis, based in Sudbury, Ontario. Reporting to the Supervisor (Drilling), the Percussive Driller will be responsible for operating and maintaining percussive drilling equipment to drill blast holes or other designated holes in accordance with project specifications. This role requires flexibility to travel to other project locations, as required.
Responsibilities
Follow all safety standards and practices before, during, and after work.
Conduct pre-start checks of work area and equipment.
Set up and position drilling equipment according to site plans and safety requirements.
Operate percussive drilling machinery to drill holes of specified depth and diameter for blasting or other purposes.
Monitor drilling progress and adjust parameters such as speed, pressure, and alignment to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Maintain accurate drilling logs and records for reporting and compliance purposes.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate activities and resolve issues promptly.
Assist with loading and unloading consumables such as drill rods, bits, and explosives as required.
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
2-3 years of drilling experience.
770010 Underground Hardrock Common Core / U0090 Operate Mechanized Long Hole Drill.
Experience on Stopemaster is an asset.
Mobile bulk blasting experience is an asset (MTCU U0092).
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Sound knowledge, skills, and experience in operation of heavy machinery.
Proven ability to recognize and follow verbal and written instructions.
Able to work rotation, day, and night shifts as may be required.
Able and willing to travel as required.
Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license is required.

We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
Hourly Range is expected to be between: $24 to $26 CAD + hourly incentive bonus.
