Wastewater Operator Plant

Join the City of Greater Sudbury as a Wastewater Operator, responsible for efficient treatment operations. This role demands strong operational skills and vital laboratory tests at the Sudbury Wastewater Treatment Plant.

In this position, you will act as Operator-In-Charge under a Wastewater Supervisor. Your key duties include performing inspections, operational adjustments, and minor repairs. You will also monitor equipment performance and assist in maintaining facility infrastructure. A strong foundation in wastewater operations and adherence to safety protocols is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective operation of wastewater facilities

• Perform regular inspections and document findings

• Make operational adjustments and minor repairs

• Collect samples and conduct laboratory tests

• Maintain grounds and assist in employee training

Requirements:

• Valid Wastewater Treatment Level 1 Certificate

• One year of operating experience in a wastewater facility

• Secondary school education completion

• Physical capability for lifting 20 kgs

• Must complete a criminal record check
