Part Time Professors, Pre Service Fire Program

Position Summary

Cambrian College's School of Health Sciences and Emergency Services requires part-time Professors to teach within the Pre‑Service Firefighter program.

Individuals may teach courses in Fire Theory and Fire Prevention, supporting students in developing the foundational knowledge and understanding of fire service principles required for a career in the fire service.

Required

• Certificate, diploma, or degree in Fire Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I and Level II certification and NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor Level I certification. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application
  *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
• Relevant professional experience within the fire service, fire prevention, or a related public safety environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into course delivery.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the learning environment.

• Experience working as a career firefighter.
• Professional experience related to fire prevention, inspection, or public fire safety education.
• Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
• Adult education certificate.
