Job Overview
The Aegis Development Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for leading the engineering team in the design and development of an upgrade to the transmitter of the Aegis MK 99 Continuous Wave Illuminator for the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) KDX‑II class destroyers. The CE will serve as the primary technical representative within the program and with U.S. Navy and ROKN customers.
Responsibilities- Generate and deploy the Design Development Execution Plan.
- Develop and maintain the Technical Baseline and technical execution strategy.
- Plan, organize, and administer technical reviews, day‑to‑day engineering execution, adjudication of technical decisions, and technical baseline control.
- Partner with the Program Management Office and key stakeholders to develop deliverable packages and support customer meetings.
- Support Operations and Supply Chain in procurement and production of POD, POM, and LRIP deliverables.
- Conduct technical planning for follow‑on contract scope to complete system design, qualification, and transition to production.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Prior technical cross‑functional team/project leadership experience.
- Experience in radar digital exciter systems development and test, ensuring adequate technical oversight.
- Ability to balance technical, cost, and schedule priorities on programmatically impactful tasks and pursuits.
- Experience with risk and opportunity identification, management, and mitigation/capture plan development and execution.
- Experience interacting and collaborating with senior external technical customers and representatives.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date (U.S. citizenship required).
- Experience in the development, production, and maintenance of military high‑voltage, high‑electrical‑power, and high‑RF‑power transmitter equipment.
- Familiarity with Raytheon SPY‑1/MK15/MK99 products.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Security clearance process handled by DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS).
Salary range: $132,400 USD – $251,600 USD. Hiring candidates may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits depend on the business unit and collective bargaining agreements.
