Senior EMI Effects Engineer – Marlborough, MA
We are seeking a Senior EMI Effects Engineer to join our Antenna/Microwave and E3 Department in Marlborough, MA. The role focuses on architecture design of electronics for extremely low electromagnetic emissions and high tolerance to external electromagnetic interfere rs, supporting applications including EMSEC and electronic warfare.
Responsibilities- Develop architecture for new designs, supporting capture and technical execution within the Department.
- Contribute to the development of suitable components and subsystems that achieve performance requirements at the system level.
- Provide technical conscience, ensuring products and processes meet appropriate standards while balancing risk conditions and constraints.
- Act as a technical contact with the customer, covering requirements, technical commitments, IRAD, and future technical needs.
- Participate in major review boards such as Engineering Review Board, Failure Review Board, Risk and Opportunity Review Board, etc.
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in EMI/EMC test and/or design.
- Strong analytical ability to read and understand complex technical instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to provide detailed documentation related to test planning, EMI test plans, procedures, and reports with minimal revision.
- Knowledge of automated EMI test techniques and programming, specifically using TILE.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD‑461 and MIL-STD‑464 test techniques.
- Experience with EMI hardening techniques including grounding/bonding and lightning.
- Experience with EMI 3D modeling tools such as HFSS, CST Microwave, COMSOL, EMC

- Master’s Degree in an Engineering/Technical Field.
- Current DoD security clearance of Secret or higher.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or assembly of EMI‑critical products.
- Experience controlling self‑interference in high‑gain, high‑speed, low‑noise advanced sensor systems (radar, electro‑optic guidance units).
- Knowledge of grounding strategies, power distribution, shielding, partitioning, and noise‑reduction methods.
- Relocation assistance may be provided based on candidate eligibility.
- Security clearance is required and must be maintained after day one.
- Position is onsite in Marlborough, MA.
