Hardware Engineering Lab Lead - Marlborough, MA

Job Summary

This role is for a lab lead to support Marlborough, MA Hardware Engineering labs. In this role, you will manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within multiple engineering labs, with specific focus on safety, security, and compliance using established doctrine and governance.

• Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
• Management coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment Property & Metrology Management, including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs
• Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets
• Perform lab purchase requests through SAP, SRM, and Vallen, while providing process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM)
• Oversee audit/assessment preparation and Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long‑range objectives, including engineering customer goals
• Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations
• Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management
• Influence stakeholders within and outside responsible areas at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures
• Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving
• Perform physical tasks while standing, sitting, or walking; occasional local travel may be required

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field
• Experience in an engineering lab environment overseeing or implementing safety, security, compliance and/or property management
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills
• Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations
• Experience working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management
• Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination
• Ability to organize and track capital and expense assets
• Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Time management skills resulting from broad administrative management responsibilities
• Lab‑specific knowledge necessary for access
• Various horizontal and vertical communication skills

• Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD

U.S. citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.

Onsite:
Marlborough, MA. Local travel may be required; occasional travel outside the local area may be required.
