Position Overview
Electrical Engineer – Sensor Power and Analog Design (SPAD) Department, Raytheon Technologies. The role is headquartered in Marlborough, MA and may require travel to Andover, MA, Woburn, MA, and/or Pelham, NH. The position is onsite and requires an active U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) with the ability to obtain an interim clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.
Key Design Areas- Power System Design: noise analysis, system simulation, solid‑state and tube transmitters, high‑voltage design, power sources, generators.
- Power Conversion: AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, linear and switching supplies, power factor correction, zero‑voltage switching, resonant circuits, synchronization, noise controls.
- Power Distribution: ground, air, shipboard, space, power generation, line voltage, high current, low voltage, micro‑power, DC, AC, multi‑phase power, fault reporting, isolation, protection circuits, redundant systems.
- Power Sub‑System Design: filters, harmonic control, EMI, circuit simulation, magnetics, protective relay systems, short‑circuit and stress analyses.
- Control Systems – servo control, motor/power/process control, digital feedback, command generation, inertial stabilization, navigation algorithms.
- Develop designs based on requirements, operational specifications, and Raytheon Engineering guidelines.
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion, analog circuitry, and servo/motor control systems.
- Provide support to production, integration, and test activities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and execute program schedules on time and within budget.
- Demonstrate self‑motivation and adaptability.
- Travel to project locations as required.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
- Strong coursework in analog electronics, power electronics/systems, or control systems.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent.
- Hardware development experience and knowledge of test/production methods for electronics/power system components.
- 3.0 cumulative GPA desired (ABET accreditation preferred).
- Existing U.S. DoD security clearance (Secret) with interim clearance available.
