Principal Mechanical Engineer – Radar Mechanical Design Department
Location:
Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA (onsite). Security clearance: U.S. citizenship required; active Secret clearance necessary.
- Lead mechanical design, development, and integration of phased array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals, and power & cooling systems.
- Develop technical solutions across the product life cycle—proposal, design, manufacture, integration, and test.
- Apply transition-to-production practices and lead the design release into production.
- Provide technical guidance, remove roadblocks, and meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance goals.
- Lead a small team of mechanical engineers as needed.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and coordinate with engineering, operations, quality, and program offices.
- Degree in STEM or advanced degree with minimum 5‑10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience designing radar architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace programs.
- Proficiency with GD&T, ANSI drawing standards, and first‑order or structural analysis.
- Experience with CREO (Pro/ENGINEER) or similar 3D solid modeling software.
- Knowledge of IC and CT manufacturing support and producibility.
- Familiarity with military standards and design to specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience with CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, structures, and electronics assemblies.
- Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500.
