Position Overview
Senior Cooling Systems Engineer – Marlborough, MA
On‑site role requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Responsible for designing and supporting fabrication, testing, and installation of custom liquid‑cooled systems for radars and custom air‑cooling of power and communication shelters.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with customers to establish cooling system requirements.
- Perform mechanical design, analysis, and documentation of cooling hardware and systems.
- Select components, including pumps and heat exchangers.
- Generate, release, and incorporate drawing changes.
- Resolve change requests from manufacturing or suppliers.
- Ensure products and processes meet applicable standards and requirements.
- Provide factory and supplier support for product integration domestically and internationally.
- Travel domestically to Raytheon sites, suppliers, and government facilities.
- Travel internationally to the Middle East, Asia, and Europe for foreign sites, suppliers, and facilities.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience in Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and/or Heat Transfer.
- Engineering project experience involving cooling systems—liquid or air cooling.
- Experience with solid modeling tools such as Pro/Engineer, Solid Works, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or similar.
- Advanced STEM degree.
- Experience with ANSI 14.5M – 1994 (1982) Geometric Dimension & Tolerance.
- Proficiency in Product Data Management (PDM) or equivalent configuration/data management software.
- Collaboration with other engineering disciplines, non‑technical disciplines, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD (good‑faith estimate).
