Senior Hardware Engineering Lab Lead

Lab Lead – Hardware Engineering Labs (Marlborough, MA, Onsite)

This role will manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day‑to‑day administrative functions across multiple labs, focusing on safety, security, and compliance.

• Lead Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management and provide direction to lab users on established policies.
• Coordinate and implement Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability initiatives.
• Manage Property & Metrology, maintaining equipment service contracts and overseeing repairs.
• Perform cost analysis, ensuring task completion within approved budgets.
• Process lab purchase requests through SAP, SRM, and Vallen, providing support to Supply Chain Management.
• Oversee audit and assessment preparation.
• Evaluate Engineering Lab Objectives and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in long‑range goals.
• Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation in compliance with Export Administration Regulations.
• Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management.
• Influence stakeholders at operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
• Work autonomously with limited oversight, providing professional input, guidance, and problem‑solving.
• Perform physical tasks while standing, sitting, or walking, including outside work as required.
• Travel locally within the region and occasionally outside the local area.

• Time‑management skills from broad administrative responsibilities.
• Lab‑specific knowledge necessary for access and enhanced horizontal and vertical communication skills.

• A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum five (5) years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum three (3) years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance.

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills.
• Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations.
• Experience working directly with engineers, technicians, and leadership in an engineering lab environment focused on safety, security, compliance, and property management.
• Knowledge of EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN, and Foreign Object Elimination.
• Ability to organize and track capital and expense assets.
• Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 USD. Relocation support is available.
