Senior Information System Security Engineer; ISSE - Marlborough, MA; Sponsor Clearance

The Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) will work onsite in Marlborough, Massachusetts, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership for classified information systems across programs.

• Conduct briefings and presentations for multiple levels of the business.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for designated tools, ensuring alignment with Raytheon’s standard solution portfolio.
• Develop, implement, and support technical standards while balancing program and mission needs.
• Provide strategic direction to drive technological innovation.
• Collaborate with other architecture teams to design and develop secure, compliant technical solutions for deployment.
• Conduct technical solution evaluations, gap analyses, and risk assessments for new technologies.
• Offer expert technical advisement in support of customer discussions, negotiations, approval requests, and related tasks.
• Ensure efficiencies, cost offsets, and savings are captured to enable competitive advantage.
• Oversee and lead cybersecurity projects and initiatives, performing cost‑benefit and risk management analyses.
• Support enterprise and business initiatives to advance technological evolution of supported programs.
• Travel for business purposes, up to 10% of the time.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cyber / systems security or network architecture/technology. An advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience is also acceptable.
• Experience implementing compliance regulations such as NISPOM, DAAPM, JAFAN, ICD, FAA, HIPAA, and/or other government requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Within six months of hire, obtain and maintain a DoD 8570.01‑M IAM Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GSLC, or CCISO).
• Experience with change management or architectural governance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor technical discussions to various audiences, create security white papers and concepts of operations.
• Experience with information security COTS applications (e.g., endpoint security, SIEM, vulnerability management, encryption, antivirus).
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, MS Project, JIRA, Azure Dev Ops).
• Experience with SIEM tools.
• Understanding of enterprise architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker) and virtualization (e.g., VMWare, Nutanix).
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, service categories, and deployment models.
