Bear Mountain at Sudbury seeks an experienced and energetic Director of Nursing to oversee the delivery of nursing services at our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the oversight and management of the nursing department. Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice.
  • Communicates effectively with nursing staff and monitors staff practices.
  • Participates in all admission decisions.
  • Participates in management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, resident concerns/grievances.
  • Evaluates the work performance of all nursing personnel.
  • Ensures adequate services and staff coverage on the units.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of and application of key clinical indicators, Casper reports and proactively monitors and implements systems to achieve company thresholds.
  • Oversees clinical PIPS and QAPI.
  • Reviews the facility 24-hour report on a daily basis ensuring timely and effective responses to significant changes in condition, transfers, discharges, injuries, falls, behavioral episodes and medication errors.
  • Oversees the facility At-Risk program.
  • Oversees nursing schedules to assure they meet resident needs and regulatory and budgetary standards.
  • Ensures clinical readiness for DPH surveys; participates in the preparation of a Plan of Correction, the initiation of staff in servicing, performing audits and the presentation of findings at the QAPI committee meeting.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have a current RN License.
  • Must have, at a minimum, two (2) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
