Hours:

7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (8 weeks of camp)

Pre-camp hours flexible beginning in May (approximately 20 hours per week)

Camp Sewataro is seeking a highly organized, calm, and detail-oriented professional to serve as our Transportation Coordinator. This role is essential to the daily operation of camp, ensuring that campers arrive and depart safely through our bus, car drop-off (PD), and walkers.

The Transportation Coordinator acts as a key liaison between camp families, our bus company, and camp staff. Strong communication, customer service, and logistical planning skills are critical, as this position manages transportation systems for each two-week session throughout the summer.

Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with computers and database systems (Camp Minder experience helpful)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage many moving pieces at once
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with families and staff
  • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solutions-focused in a busy environment
  • Must be at least 18+
Preferred Experience
  • Customer service and phone communication experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience using Google Maps or similar routing tools
Position Overview

The Transportation Coordinator oversees all camper transportation logistics, including bus routes, stop assignments, car arrival and dismissal systems, and daily communication with families. This role helps ensure transportation runs safely, efficiently, and with a high level of care and professionalism.

Daily Camp Responsibilities
  • Arrive at camp by 7:30 AM to manage morning transportation needs
  • Respond to parent calls and emails regarding missed buses, delays, or stop changes
  • In the event of traffic or breakdowns, notify families promptly with updated timing
  • Remain on call until the last bus route is complete each afternoon (around 5:00 PM)
Ongoing Logistics
  • Repeat route development and assignments for each session throughout the summer
  • Adjust routes as needed to improve efficiency and respond to family feedback
  • Support camp office operations as needed during busy transportation windows
