Position: Classroom Teacher / Special Education
Job Description:

Suffield Middle School/McAlister Intermediate School

* Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters in the content area

* Must possess or be eligible for one of the following CTSDE Certifications
* (165/065) Comprehensive Special Education, K-12

Salary:
Salary, work year and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the Board of Education and the Suffield Educators Association.

Building Administrator/Director of Special Services

Position Expectations:

* Ability to design instruction to meet the needs of all students through small group/co-taught settings in alignment with the general education curriculum.

* Demonstrated ability to write accurate and thorough assessment reports, IEP's and progress reports.

* Ability to positively engage teachers, students and families in the learning process.

* Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students.

* Ability to use data to make instructional decisions.

* Ability to build organizational capacity around best practices, literacy instruction and intervention based on our continuous improvement work.

* Ability to administer, analyze and interpret comprehensive academic and social emotional evaluations.

* Demonstrates knowledge of special education regulations and guidelines.

* Demonstrated ability to assess student learning on a continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed.
