Title:
Special Education Literacy Tutor - Grant funded position
Part Time - 10-15 hours per week
Location:
Suffield Middle School - Grades 6-8
Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree
* Experience/Trained in Wilson Reading Program or Orton-Gillingham preferred
* Experience working with secondary students in a special education setting preferred
Period of Employment:
As soon as possible through June 2026
Reports to:
Director of Special Services/Special Education Supervisor
Position Expectations:
Implement the principles of a structured literacy approach based on the Science of Reading
* Work with special education teachers to provide high-quality instruction to students identified through the IEP process as requiring this level of intervention.
* Keep detailed data and progress monitoring for IEP goals and objectives.
