Position: Classroom Teacher / Special Education
Job Description:

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters in the content area

* Must possess or be eligible for one of the following CTSDE Certifications
* (165/065) Comprehensive Special Education, K-12

Salary:
Salary, work year and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the Board of Education and the Suffield Educators Association (Salary Range $51,).

Period of Employment:
Accepting applications for the start of the 2026/2027 school year.

Reports to:

Building Administrator/Director of Special Services

Position Expectations:

* Provide specialized programming to students with Autism or other neurodivergent disorders.

* Demonstrated ability to write accurate and thorough assessment reports, IEP's and progress reports.

* Ability to positively engage teachers, students and families in the learning process.

* Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students.

* Ability to use data to make instructional decisions.

* Ability to build organizational capacity around best practices, literacy instruction and intervention based on our continuous improvement work.

* Ability to administer, analyze and interpret comprehensive academic and social emotional evaluations

* Demonstrates knowledge of special education regulations and guidelines

* Demonstrated ability to assess student learning on a continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed
