Assistant Controller
Location: Suffield, CT (On-site with flexibility)
Compensation: Up to $130K + bonus
A growing, global manufacturing organization is seeking an Assistant Controller for a high-impact role supporting one of its standalone sites. This is a unique opportunity to step into a visible position with strong exposure to senior leadership and the ability to influence both accounting operations and cost performance.
This individual will operate as the lead finance presence at their location, partnering closely with the Controller and VP of Finance while supporting site leadership on financial performance and cost initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Own day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger and journal entries
- Lead month-end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Perform cost analysis and drive visibility into manufacturing performance
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls in a SOX-compliant environment
- Support inventory processes including physical counts and cycle counts
- Manage account reconciliations and intercompany transactions
- Oversee fixed assets (PP&E and tooling) accounting
- Partner with shared services on AP processes
- Assist with audits (internal, external, and corporate)
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and cost reduction

Note:
This role has no direct reports but requires strong leadership and autonomy.
- 3-5 years of accounting and/or audit experience
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Exposure to cost accounting and inventory
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- High visibility with senior leadership
