Position SummaryThe job of Student Van Driver was established for the purpose/s of transporting students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions in a school vehicle; ensuring vehicle operation is in a safe operating condition; ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses; and assisting with routine Districtwide deliveries.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities- Must hold and maintain a Valid Connecticut Driver's License with a "V" endorsement and no serious violations. However, if you don't have the proper endorsement, please inquire. We can help you thru this process and reimburse for cost associated to attaining license.
- Have a minimum of three years' previous safe driving experience.
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.
- Ability to read and interpret maps.
- Ability to complete records as required
- Ability to pass required medical examinations.
- Meet such alternatives to the above as the supervisor may find appropriate and acceptable.
