Full-time, 3 months Temporary About the Role As a Family Support Worker, you will:
Carry out Short Breaks assessments and reviews to determine appropriate support for children and young people. Complete Carers Assessments to understand the pressures faced by parents and carers. Conduct home and school visits to gather a full picture of the child’s needs. Participate in a duty rota , screening incoming contacts and referrals. Assess a child’s mental capacity using Mental Capacity Assessments (MCAs).

Work closely with social workers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to ensure coordinated support. What We’re Looking For NVQ Level 3 in Child Care, Health and Social Care, or a related field. Experience working with children, young people, and families—especially those with additional needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence in conducting assessments and writing clear, concise reports. A good understanding of child development, safeguarding, and multi-agency working.
