Semi‑Senior / Senior Accountant - Bury St Edmunds
£28,000-£34,000 | Independent practice
This well‑established, 'dare to be different' friendly Bury St Edmunds accountancy practice is recruiting an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing team. Rightly proud of its reputation as a growing firm within the area, this is a brand‑new role ready to welcome an accounting professional looking for client exposure, autonomy and long‑term career prospects within a supportive and family‑feel firm.
This is a genuinely exciting role - if you are currently a semi‑senior looking for the next step in your career or perhaps already a Senior looking for a refreshing environment to develop in, this could be the ideal role for you!
- End to end client management - building long term relationships across a varied sector portfolio
- Preparation of company accounts to FRS 102 & 105 standards
- Completion of personal and corporate tax returns across your client base
- Acting in an advisory capacity to clients
- Management accounts support for clients
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Liaising directly with clients and handling queries professionally
- AAT Level 4 qualified or ACCA / ACA part‑qualified and studying
- 2+ years' experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Experience managing and liaising with multiple clients across sectors
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills - a natural diligence and organised approach
- Confidence working with varied workloads and requirements - deadline orientated and calm under pressure
- Previous experience with accounting systems, especially cloud systems such as:
Xero, Quickbooks and Free Agent
- £28,000 - 34,000 DOE
- Hybrid working considered after initial qualifying period
- Study support and ongoing professional development where needed
