Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager
Job Summary
Our client, a leading heavy underground utility contractor, is seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Construction Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager will oversee a range of projects throughout Hampton Roads. This role involves managing various aspects of construction projects, from reviewing plans and generating takeoffs to coordinating with local authorities and utility departments. Monthly vehicle allowance and gas card provided and 100% premium paid medical and dental for employee.

- Oversee all phases of heavy civil construction, from initial takeoffs and plan reviews to final delivery
- Manage self-perform crews and subcontractors in complex underground utility installation, trench safety, and excavation
- Act as the primary point of contact for VDOT, Miss Utility, and local municipalities
- Drive profitability by managing budgets, progress billing, submittals, and the RFI/Change Order process
- Proven experience as a PM or Superintendent specifically within heavy civil or underground utility sectors
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction materials, methods, and VDOT specifications
- Ability to lead field crews and collaborate with engineers and local authorities
