Beech Grove UMC in Suffolk seeks a Director of Church Music. The candidate will plan, develop and implement a church music program, which coordinates with the worship calendar, as directed by the pastor or any guest preacher.
Duties include but are not limited to:- Serve as the director for worship choir and any musically related ministry groups within Beech Grove UMC. Recruit and advise potential members and participants for these groups. Lead weekly rehearsals and help warm up and lead music on Sunday mornings during worship.
- Serve as the supervisor for the worship pianist, helping to ensure compliance with job duties, personnel policies and procedures, and working with the pastor to ensure readiness of the pianist for weekly worship.
- Schedule piano tuning, keyboard and sound system maintenance in coordination with the leadership and financial teams.
- Schedule soloist, special musicians and other ministry groups.
- Work with the leadership and finance teams on a yearly Music budget.
