Job Description

CTR Group is seeking a Customer Service Representative - Logistics/Transport with an established Manufacturing Company located in Suffolk, VA. A Temp-Hire career opportunity!

Pay Range: $20-$22.50 per hour with Benefits.

Hours 8am-4:30pm

SUMMARY:

This position will involve helping customers with questions and concerns regarding the company's products, services, and administration work as needed. Their duties include communicating with customers over the phone and via e-mail along with logistical daily duties involving scheduling trucks to ensure our customers receive their products in a timely manner. Administrative work will be involved on an as needed basis.

A list of these duties includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Listening to customers' concerns & handling complaints
  • Receiving orders via mail and phone from customers
  • Scheduling trucking and logistics
  • Working with sales reps to ease their burdens on the road and to take their direction or answer their questions
  • Working with railcars to make sure that chemicals travel from Point A to point B involves railcar reporting
  • Processing payments and calculating charges
  • Monitoring Customer satisfaction levels and referring customers to superiors when need be
  • Keeping spreadsheets up to date and accurate
  • Sending schedules daily for trucking companies
  • Filling orders for billing purposes in the H drive
  • Haz Mat Training is required as well and will be provided
  • Be willing to book travel arrangements
  • Be open to cross training
  • Research projects and preparation to handle municipal bids with direction.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal communication. Proper grammar and sentence structure.
  • Professionalism
    - Being polite to suppliers and customers, leaving personal issues and drama at home, accepting direction and suggestions well.
  • Punctuality
    - Being on time and achieving tasks in a timely manner.
  • Dependability - Being able to take instruction and following through to make sure orders or tasks are complete without having to be questioned on whether it is done.
  • Ability to work in a team-setting
    - Helping others, respecting social distancing and concentration.
  • Ability to take directions and apply it
    - We suggest note taking.
  • Problem Solving and decision-making ability
    - Being able to work independently as time goes on with training.
  • Basic computer skills-Sage, Data entry, Excel, CSX & NS Rail websites
  • Effective Time Management and organization-this will be key to being able to get work done and to make sure the work is done correctly.
  • Attention to detail
    - Candidate must read carefully.
  • Understanding of the company's products and services and be interested in learning.
  • Multitasking
    - Candidate must be able to juggle multiple orders, problems and distractions at one time.
  • Be open to participating in continuing and professional development webinars as needed
