Shift- 04:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- 01:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Verifies government‑issued identification, issues passenger baggage tags, and moves baggage to the client conveyor belt system. Assists passengers with general questions about direction, terminal services, and wheelchair access.
- Meet and greet airline customers in a positive and friendly manner.
- Move stanchions for optimal line queue management.
- Verify government‑issued photo identification to ensure authorized access.
- Issue customer baggage tags and place them on checked baggage.
- Move tagged baggage to the client conveyor belt system.
- Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards; adhere to hazardous materials handling requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- One year of customer service or similar work experience.
- May be required to stand and walk for two‑thirds or more of the shift.
- May need to talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel for two‑thirds or more of the shift.
- May be required to lift 75 pounds or more periodically for up to two‑thirds of the shift.
- Moderate noise level.
- Effective communication in English.
- Reading and interpreting documents such as government‑issued , safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and employee handbooks.
- Presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Comply with uniform and grooming standards; wear SIDA badge/Airport all times.
- Comply with ABM Aviation’s Employee Handbook policies, including Zero‑Tolerance Discrimination and Harassment, Retaliation, Ethics, and Security policies.
- Previous airport, baggage handling, warehouse, or porter experience preferred.
Job Requirements
- Must be willing to work on assigned schedule, which includes weekends.
- Must meet all requirements for receiving the required airport SIDA badge and Customs seal (if applicable), including a successful background check and ten‑year work history.
