In this role, you will serve as the case manager for three students with prescribed visual impairments, ensuring they receive personalized educational support and accommodations. You'll also play a key role in the implementation and coordination of IEPs, working alongside a network of related services staff and educators.
What We're Looking For:
- Valid Virginia Department of Education License - Visually Impaired Students endorsement required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience teaching students with visual impairments
- Demonstrated ability to write, manage, and implement IEPs
- Collaborative mindset, eager to work with both in-person and virtual colleagues
- Flexibility for itinerant work throughout the district
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade
- Serve as case manager for select students and maintain all required documentation
- Modify curriculum and use specialized materials to meet individual student needs
- Partner with educational technology specialists to effectively integrate AAC devices
- Collaborate regularly with related services professionals and classroom staff
