Passionate about supporting students with visual impairments? Make a meaningful impact as an Itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract position offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload of approximately 20-25 students in grades K-12. Providing itinerant services across the district, you'll collaborate closely with an experienced virtual TVI as well as a dedicated technology specialist who offers assistance with AAC devices.

In this role, you will serve as the case manager for three students with prescribed visual impairments, ensuring they receive personalized educational support and accommodations. You'll also play a key role in the implementation and coordination of IEPs, working alongside a network of related services staff and educators.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Virginia Department of Education License - Visually Impaired Students endorsement required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience teaching students with visual impairments
• Demonstrated ability to write, manage, and implement IEPs
• Collaborative mindset, eager to work with both in-person and virtual colleagues
• Flexibility for itinerant work throughout the district
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction and support to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade
• Serve as case manager for select students and maintain all required documentation
• Modify curriculum and use specialized materials to meet individual student needs
• Partner with educational technology specialists to effectively integrate AAC devices
• Collaborate regularly with related services professionals and classroom staff
