Engineering Project Manager – New Product Development, Capital Equipment

Responsibilities- Lead planning, scheduling, risk management, and execution for multiple accessory and subsystem work streams supporting the capital equipment platform.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams across Engineering, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
- Manage external supplier partnerships and integrations as needed.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource plans using Planisware.
- Identify risks, define mitigations, and communicate status and issues to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, MDR requirements, and Design Control processes.
- Align work streams with overall program strategy in partnership with the Program Manager and Asset Strategy Lead.
- Track deliverables, dependencies, and critical path throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support governance forums and prepare project status updates for leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. MBA a plus.
- Minimum 10 years in the Life Sciences industry.
- Proven experience managing New Product Development programs for complex medical devices or capital equipment. Experience in Quality Engineering helpful.
- Deep understanding of FDA regulations, MDR, Design Controls, and product development processes.
- Advanced project management capability with multiple concurrent work streams. PE or PMP desired.
- Hands‑on experience with Planisware for project and portfolio management.
- Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional engineering teams through regulated life cycles.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Nice to have: familiarity with Stage‑Gate and portfolio governance; ophthalmology or surgical capital equipment experience.
- Availability for travel approximately once per month to St. Louis, MO.
- Immediate start preferred. Initial 6‑month contract with likelihood to extend.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. MBA a plus.
