Western Tidewater CSB is seeking a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional for our Residential Homes in Suffolk, VA.General Responsibilities for Qualified Intellectual Disability Counselor I:
- Assist with consumer service plans related to identified needs and goals
- Assist consumers in gaining access to appropriate medical, psychiatric, social, educational, vocational, and other supports and services
- Assist clients with ADLs
- Participate on an interdisciplinary team
- Advocate on behalf of consumers, families, and providers
- Behavior management and crisis intervention
- Must be a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (Willing to hire and provide training & mentoring to those that meet educational requirements; however, lack the work experience:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other related Human Services areas of study)
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable DMV record at the time of hire
